The Logan diesel is showing 9,524 km on the clock, and we're ready to give it the next big jump on the odo. Pablo and I are driving it to Gangtok. Say m long term Logan diesel folks, and wave us goodbye at the same time. To be perfectly, honest, this isn't the first time we’ve inducted this particular Logan in our fleet. We had it back in July, then it went back to Mahindra for a while, and we got to drive the rather likeable 11 + kpl petrol variant. And now, the diesel's back.
I think the gear ratios are perfect for city driving and 13+ kpl is more than acceptable. My friends have been surprised at my sudden generosity on their birthdays, and I also think that the accounts chaps in the office smile a bit wider at me nowadays. Maybe I am imagining things.
But, I do like the Logan. It does actually seat five and the ride quality is just right. It might feel a little stiff at low speeds, but it can take a lot of punishment. And lest I forget, this Logan isn't stock either. Pete's done his magic on this one too and the midrange is now quite admirable. Our data logs show a top speed rise of 8-10 kph and one extra kpl also. You could say that 28 grand of Pete's has solved the issues of a low power peak and a narrow power band.
No, the Logan's time with us has not been uneventful. We rue the couple of small nicks on the car and horror, one rainy night, I added one too. Sorry! Trim has started to rattle in places and the clutch feels a just a little tight. Then again, the Logan is headed for its 10,000 km service before we leave, and most of these issues will get sorted. Well, I gotta run, I've to pack for a long trip with Pablo and the Logan.
