If you’ve looked around on the roads recently, you will notice that there’s a fair amount of BMWs zipping about. And, if BMW has its way, you are going to se a lot more. The German carmaker has rolled out its expanded 2008 range of the 5-series.

The 5-series has been around for just about 18 months, but its already a best-seller in its category with a 54 percent share of the mid-luxury segment. And now, here come some more additions to the lineup. IN addition to two petrol models (the 525i and the 530i) three diesel variants, 520d, 530d and the 530d highline, will also be available. Peter Kronschnabl, president BMW India said, “With the BMW 5-series Model year 2008 we have the pleasure of providing efficient engines, increased horsepower, and the latest in safety technology unique to this car segment in India.”

The Night vision technology will be available specifically on the 530i and 530d highline. A sunroof is also now standard on all models. Pricing for the 5-series range starts 36.9 lakh.
