If you liked the Volkswagen Passat, you will love the new Passat CC. The 2009 4-door coupe version of the Passat was launched earlier this year and VW will bring it to India by the end of this year. The Passat CC(Comfort Coupe not Coupe Cabriolet) takes design cues from the Mercedes CLS which is based on the E-Class. The Passat CC is based on the saloon and shares its wheelbase but is longer by an inch and wider by nearly an inch and a half. It also sits lower than the sedan. The CC comes with rear bucket seats and swoopy interiors which have different color scheme to add to the sporty appeal.

It also has a lane departure warning and every time the car moves out of the lane, the steering wheel vibrates gently and automatically moves the car back into the lane. This feature gets automatically switched off when you use the indicators, which we experienced when we drove it on the German autobahns. The CC will feature the 2.0 litre TDI although it will be injected with a healthy dose of sportiness and the DSG gearbox. Since it will be positioned between the existing Passat Saloon and the Phaeton, expect to shell out about Rs 30 lakh for it.
