Skoda has just release the first pictures of the second-generation Superb; unfortunately, there’s only one, teaser, photograph, which only gives away the new nose.
What the picture does indicate is more premium appearance for the Superb; unlike in India, where it’s seen as a luxury car, Europeans see it as a big taxicab. Skoda’s hoping to move the car just a bit upmarket to get rid of that slightly unpleasant image. Based on the VW Psssat as is the current one, the Superb will be extremely spacious and comfort-oriented, The engine range is likely to include VW’s now range of turbo-and super- charged petrol’s, and the usual excellent diesels. Wonder what that does to VW’’s product separation though: Passat, Audi A4, Skoda Laura, Superb…
